Reflection

Before, I thought that writing poems were easy because I thought that you just need to think of rhyming words so I took poem writing for granted but after learning all the elements of poetry, techniques in writing a poem, rules to follow in writing a poem, I realized that it was quite difficult. I also realized that the poems I wrote when I was still 10 years old didn’t make any sense at all. They didn’t even contain life values. Now, I just laugh at my old compositions.  Since I’m older and have a better understanding, poem writing means a lot to me because I believe that through it, I can pour out my deep insights and feelings.

Poem writing helps me to know my true identity. It motivated me to reflect on my life journey and helped me acquire the values from my experiences. Through it, I also learned the feelings of nature and this became my inspiration. It abetted me to appreciate God's beautiful masterpieces.

As what I’ve said, writing poems is a tough job. It’s not that easy because you need to choose an appropriate or good theme for your poem. After choosing a theme, you may start composing a poem but you have to bear in mind the elements of poetry. Writing a poem is kind of frustrating because it kind of pressures you when you already know a lot about poetry but at the same time it’s quite fun because it’s like having an adventure on another world or planet where you meet different creatures. After composing a poem, the next responsibility you need to do is to look for pictures that is/are related to your poem. In my case, this was quite easy actually easier than writing poem. 




After all my realizations, I feel very confident to be an amateur poet though it's not easy. I just hope someday I will become a famous poet at the same time a good doctor.
